The Master of Urban Planning (MUP) Program at the University of Louisville prepares students for careers in many areas. These include land use planning, environmental planning, urban design, historic preservation, transportation planning, open space planning, housing planning, economic development, real estate development, and geographic information systems.
Students gain hands-on experience by working on real planning problems through required internships and studio courses.
Students can choose to focus on one of four areas: land use and environmental planning, administration of planning organizations, housing and community development, or spatial analysis for planning.
Studio courses are held at the Urban Design Studio, which is located in downtown Louisville and is run by the MUP Program.
