Intakes at Swedish Universities for International Students

The universities in Sweden have two intakes wherein students can take admission. Some universities might have additional intakes too but that depends on the availability of course, and also the number of seats in additional intakes is very less. The primary intake is Autumn, and the secondary intake is Spring.

Autumn Intake: This intake is preferred by most international students. The number of seats is way more than the spring intake. In this intake, all the universities open up most of their courses, and you can choose a course of your choice. However, the competition is pretty steep, and you will have to compete with a fairly good number of students with excellent academic records.

Spring Intake: This is the secondary intake, and mostly those who couldn’t secure admission in the Autumn intake take admission in Spring. The Spring intake has less number of seats which makes it less competitive. So, if a course is available in this intake, then the chances of getting admission are way more than the Autumn intake. But one should always aim to get admission in the Autumn intake itself so that you don’t miss an entire year in case you don’t get admission in Spring either.
