INR figures are approximate based on ₹86/USD. Actual charges depend on your bank's exchange rate at payment. Always refer to USD amounts as the official figures.
There is no separate "retake fee" for the SAT. Each time you register for a new test date, you pay the standard registration fee again $111 for Indian students ($68 base + $43 international). There is no surcharge for sitting the exam more than once, and there is no official limit on the number of times you can take the SAT.
Fee waivers are available for eligible students, primarily for US-based students from low-income families. Students eligible for a fee waiver can take the SAT for free and get other benefits including unlimited free score reports and free late registration.
For Indian students registering internationally, fee waivers are generally not applicable through the standard College Board programme. Check with your school counsellor or the official College Board fee waiver page for the most current eligibility criteria.
A test centre fee of $24 applies at select locations only. The official list of centres known to charge this additional fee covers specific cities in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and South Korea as no Indian test centres are currently on the list of centres charging this additional fee. However, always confirm with your chosen test centre before registering, as this list is updated periodically.
Payment is made entirely online during the registration process on mysat.collegeboard.org. Accepted payment methods include:

College Board charges in USD, not INR. At approximately ₹86 per USD, the $111 total works out to around ₹9,550, but the exact rupee amount depends on your bank's exchange rate on the payment date.
There is no full refund. If you cancel by the change deadline, you pay a $34 cancellation fee and lose that amount. If you cancel after the change deadline, the late cancellation fee is $44. There is no refund for missing your test date entirely.
No. Each new registration costs the same $111 for Indian students. There is no separate retake surcharge.
Your first 4 score reports are free if ordered within 9 days of the test date. Additional reports beyond those 4, or reports ordered after 9 days, cost $15 each.
Currently, no Indian test centres are on the list of centres charging the additional $24 test centre fee. However, confirm with your specific centre before registering, as this list is subject to change.
No. The College Board processes payments in USD only. Use an international-enabled credit or debit card for payment.
Your seat is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed. If your payment fails, try a different card or contact your bank to enable the international transaction, then complete registration again subject to seat availability.
