The main distinction between a Scholarship and a Bursary is that a Scholarship is awarded to students based on academic merit, whereas a Bursary is awarded to students who require financial assistance for their education.
The award is available for full-time or part-time postgraduate Masters courses at the University of Essex leading to the degree of MA, MSc, MBA, LLM, MFA, MAPH, or MRes.
If a student withdraws, they may be entitled to a pro-rata payment of the remaining award upon return to studies, at the discretion of the University.
If the student has a debt to the University, the payment will be applied to the student account first.
The University will assess your eligibility for mature student status based on your status during your undergraduate studies.
