Current Educational Standing: Candidates must be in their final year of pre-university education (Year 13) or on the verge of starting their university education. This ensures that the scholarship supports students at a critical transition point into higher education.
Type of Educational Institution: Applicants should be attending a state school or a sixth form college in the UK that does not charge fees. This criterion aims to target students who may not have access to the same resources or opportunities as those in fee-paying institutions, leveling the playing field for talented individuals across different socio-economic backgrounds.
First-Generation University Students: The program prioritizes students who are the first in their immediate family to attend university. This focus acknowledges the additional challenges and barriers first-generation students often face in accessing and succeeding in higher education.
Field of Study: The scholarship is specifically aimed at students applying to study Law or Law-related degrees at a UK university. Academic Achievement: Applicants must have demonstrated strong academic performance, as evidenced by achieving at least 5 A grades or Level 7 and above in their GCSE examinations, including in English and Maths. Socio-Economic Criteria: To address equity and access, the scholarship has specific socio-economic criteria.
