The British Council India manages the Goa Education Trust Scholarships, which aim to contribute to the region's growth. These scholarships cover a portion or all of the fees for postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom.

Benefits

The Goa Education Trust Scholarship was established by the British Council of India specifically for Goan students. This scholarship was established to encourage students to continue their education in a state like Goa, which has one of the highest literacy rates in the country. However, please note that this scholarship has been permanently discontinued.

• Students can apply for up to seven different types of scholarships through the Goa Education Trust Scholarship.
• Scholarships are available for students in the first through eighth grades who are pursuing higher education.
• Students who want to do their MS in the UK can choose this option because it will help them financially.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the GET scholarship, you must meet the following requirements: 

• Age: Applicants must be under 30 years old at the time of application. 
• Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen with a valid passport. 
• Minimum requirements: Should have graduated from a recognized Indian university. 
• The applicant should have a solid academic record as well as extracurricular accomplishments. 
• Evidence of Admission: A proof of enrollment or an unconditional admission letter for any PG course starting in the fall semester (September/October) from any of the recognized UK universities.

Application Process

The Goa Education Trust Scholarships application process is simple and straightforward. It is a straightforward four-step process that ensures you have successfully submitted all required documents by the deadline.

  Download the scholarship application from the British Council's official website.
• 
  Fill out the downloaded form in word format and attach a scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph to the appropriate section.
• 
  You must provide proof of certain aspects such as your age, address, and so on. As a result, you must collect the following documents:

  • 
    A copy of your birth certificate to prove your age
  • 
    To confirm your address, please provide a copy of your passport's identification page.
  • 
    Copy of a UK university's conditional/unconditional admission letter.
  • 
    One academic reference letter and one professional reference letter
• 
  After completing all three of the preceding steps, you must mail the entire application package (application form, supporting documents, and photographs) to the British Council.

You can send your application package via email or postal mail. Those wishing to send an email must ensure that the size of their scanned application package does not exceed 10 MB.

Selection Process 

Following the application deadline, the British Council of India's selection panel evaluates each application on the following criteria: 

• Academic credentials 
• References 
• Extracurricular activities 

After the application evaluation process is completed, a list of students who have been shortlisted is compiled. If you are among the students who have been shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview. Recipients are chosen based on an interview and their overall profile.

Students should be aware that, while the scholarship scheme is open to all Indian students, preference is still given to Goan students.
