The scholarship holders are granted an award of INR 3,07,131 which covers their tuition fees but not the cost of living or accommodation. It is a one-time scholarship which is non-renewable.
This scholarship is specifically intended for Indian students studying in Canada with a student visa, and it is only awarded to those with exceptional high school grades and exceptional academic achievement. The applicant:
The India First Year Excellence Scholarship is not available through a separate application form at the University of Alberta.
Indian students who are accepted into the University of Alberta's undergraduate program will automatically be given consideration for the scholarship.
Applicants are advised to submit their admission applications as soon as possible if they intend to use this scholarship program or any other UAlberta scholarship for financial assistance.

After the application window closes, the entire scrutiny and scholar selection process will take three to four months.
You are able to apply for more than one scholarship, but if you are chosen, you will only receive one annually.
