Humber Polytechnic International Students Criteria
Undergraduate (diploma) academic requirement: Completion of Class 12 with competitive results commonly 70%+ for diploma, degree, and certificate programs, plus program-specific prerequisites (English and Mathematics for most; Physics for some engineering programs).
Graduate certificate requirement: A completed bachelor's degree (or diploma) with a minimum of around 60%, in a related field.
English proficiency (most programs): IELTS Academic 6.0–6.5 overall (no band below 6.0 for many programs), or TOEFL iBT 84–88, or PTE Academic 58–61, or Duolingo 120, or CAEL 60.
English proficiency (degrees / Nursing): IELTS 6.5 overall (Nursing typically requires 7.0); the Humber EAP pathway is available for those who fall short.
Backlogs: Humber generally accepts up to 8 backlogs for four-year programs and around 4 for three-year programs.
Supporting documents: Academic transcripts (with certified English translation if needed), proof of English proficiency, and program-specific items such as a portfolio, letter of intent, or references.
Application: International students apply through Humber's international portal; the CAD 100 application fee is non-refundable.
Study permit: After receiving an offer and paying the CAD 3,000 deposit, students receive a Provincial Attestation Letter and apply for a Canadian study permit.
Humber Polytechnic Scholarships
Humber awards over 10,000 scholarships, bursaries, and awards each year, including dedicated international entrance awards. Some are automatic for high-achieving direct-entry students, while others require an application.
1. International Entrance Scholarship (Diploma / Advanced Diploma)
Valued at CAD 2,000 (CAD 1,000 per semester across the first two semesters), for new diploma and advanced diploma students.
Awarded each term around 20 in Fall, 15 in Winter, and 5 in Summer on a competitive basis.
2. International Bachelor's Degree Entrance Scholarships (automatic, grade-based)
Renewable awards for students entering a four-year bachelor's directly from high school, scaled to final grades: CAD 4,000 (95%+), CAD 3,500 (90–94.9%), CAD 2,000 (85–89.9%), and CAD 1,500 (75–79.9%, non-renewable).
Considered automatically based on academic average.
