The Great Wall Program offers fellowships to students from select developing countries to study in China. Selected students can do their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in China fully funded for one year. The National Commission of UNESCO for India and the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) manage the Great Wall Program application and selection processes.

The Great Wall Program eligibility requirements include the following:
Be a citizen of any of the eligible developing countries
Good mental and physical health
Age must be under 45 years for general programs and under 50 years for senior scholar programs
Minimum 2 years of undergraduate degree for general programs and a graduate degree for senior scholar programs
Contact the National Commission of UNESCO for India.
Prepare the documents required. Contact the concerned university in China for Admission Letter.
The National Commission recommends the top candidates. They should complete the online application at China Scholarship Council (CSC) Online Application System for International Students.
Submit the documents to the National Commission.

The National Commission of UNESCO endorses the top applications. The commission sends the Letters of nomination and CSC online application forms with copies of passports to UNESCO.
UNESCO and Chinese authorities select around 75 candidates and inform respective National Commissions.

Applicants must prove their exceptional merit for the Great Wall Program to get their application selected, and here are some ways of doing that:
It is not possible to edit the application form for the Great Wall Program after submission. Applicants must be vigilant while filling out the form on the China Scholarship Council (CSC) portal.
Applicants for the Great Wall Program must get acceptance to a host institution in China to get selected for funding. Once an applicant has been selected, it is not possible to change the institution of study in China.
The Great Wall Program offers funding for full-time courses in China and not for part-time or distance learning degrees.
There is no mandatory requirement for the applicant to be proficient in Chinese to apply for the Great Wall Program.
