    What is the eligibility criteria for the Singapore International Graduate Award?

    Singapore International Graduate Award is open to applicants of any nationality from anywhere in the world. The following are the basic eligibility requirements for the scholarship programme:

  • list items All international graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results are welcome to apply.
  • list items SINGA is primarily designed for international students who are studying in Singapore for the first time. Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents, and International students currently studying/who have previously studied in Singapore tertiary institutions are not eligible.
  • list items Excellent written and spoken English skills; favorable reports from academic referees
  • The eligibility criteria listed above are not exhaustive.Based on current scholarship policies, A*STAR may include additional selection criteria. These policies are subject to change at any time without notice.

    What is the application process for the Singapore International Graduate Award?

    The application process for the Singapore International Graduate Award is simple. The following are the step-by-step instructions:

    1.Examine PhD Research Projects

    2. Prepare the required document

  • list items Passport photocopied.
  • list items A recent passport-size photograph (in.jpeg or.png format)
  • 3. Collect transcripts and reports (which must be in English). Moreover, include

  • list items 2 academic recommendation letters
  • list items Optional GRE/GMAT/TOEFL/IELTS test scores
  • 4. Register online through the official website, A*STAR Scholarship Applicant Portal.

    5. Choose and apply for the Singapore International Graduate Award.

    6. Complete the application form and return it by December 1, 2023, for the August 2024 intake.

    There are certain documents that are necessary to be submitted with the application form to apply for the Singapore International Graduate Award. 

  • list items Academic transcripts for a bachelor's and/or master's degree.
  • list items Bachelor's Degree certificate(s) / scroll(s) or a letter of recommendation from the university if your degree certificate / scroll has not yet been conferred.
  • list items 2 recommendation reports (referees must complete and submit online).
  • list items Applicants applying to NUS supervisors/projects must include their GRE scores in their SINGA application form.
  • list items For all other applicants, the university may request that you submit satisfactory GRE scores as part of the university admission requirement.

    What is the selection process for the Singapore International Graduate Award?

    Selections are made solely on the basis of the applicant's academic record and participation in extracurricular activities. Aside from these, the following factors are important:

  • list items Interest in research and the ability to apply that research to the benefit of oneself and society will also be considered.
  • list items Recommendation letter submitted
  • Only candidates who have been shortlisted will be notified via email within 12 weeks of the application deadline. Before the scholarship holder is chosen, an interview may be conducted in person or via electronic media.

    Being awarded SINGA does not guarantee direct admission to a university. The university will notify A*STAR and the awardee of the admission decision.
