DAAD Scholarship Programs
DAAD Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship offered by government bodies under the organization of Deutscher Akademischer Austauscdienst. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) gives a 1,00,000 total number of scholarships to promote international academic relations, out of which 25 DAAD scholarships were given to Indian students in 2021. Scholarship amount- 750 Euros. International applicants who are eligible for this scholarship should have necessarily completed their previous degree with a minimum aggregation of 85%. All recipients of DAAD scholarships will have the privilege of health insurance and travel expenses covered.
Erasmus Scholarship Programs (European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students)
Indian students are eligible for an Erasmus scholarship, a fully funded scholarship for Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral students. Funded by the European Commision, number of 2,500 scholarships are presented to deserving students. The stipend per month is 1100 Euro to 1200 Euro along with free tuition fee, traveling allowance and international airfare tickets. A job visa after the successful completion of your Master’s or PhD program is also given so that you have legal proof to work as well.
Heinrich Böll Foundation Scholarships for International Students
Around 1,200 scholarships are announced by Heinrich Böll Foundation for the courses of Bachelors, Masters, PhD programs in Germany for students all around the globe including India. Its applications open twice in a year in March and September. The monthly stipend is Euro 750 for Masters Program and Euro 1000 per month for the Doctoral program.
Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)
It provides four kinds of scholarships (research networks, individual fellowships, research and innovation staff exchanges, COFUND programs) for researchers from different academic disciplines. Students of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this scholarship program. The monthly stipend is of Euro 3000 along with Euro 600 monthly transport allowance.
Humboldt Research Fellowships for Postdoctoral Researchers
It is applicable for students of all nationalities to pursue postdoctoral programs. Approximately 400 to 500 research fellowships are awarded every year. The monthly stipend of Euro 2,650 is given for 6 to 24 months, which includes monthly expenses, living costs, health insurance and transportation.
Bayer Foundation Scholarships
This foundation provides support to the students who want to study in Germany with five fellowship programs in - medical science, agricultural science, chemistry, non-academic professions and biology. Indian students are eligible to apply. It is one of the merit-based scholarships to study in Germany. Around Euro 6400 every year till 2 years after graduation are awarded.
Deutschlandstipendium National Scholarship Programme
Open to students of all nationalities. An amount of Euro 150 per month is given to students. Highly talented students are awarded 300 Euro monthly. Funding is provided for two semesters, but can be extended till course completion also.
Einstein International Postdoctoral Fellowship
This scholarship permits international students to work with high-performing bright scholars in Berlin. Besides, a student also has an offer to live in the city of Berlin and granted for a period of upto 5 years during the active work in the junior research unit. A PhD degree is essential to apply for it. A student will be given stipend upto Euro 20,000 per year to cover up expenses, such as living costs.
Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ)
German Cancer Research Center PhD scholarship - The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) proposes a chance to conduct projects to more than 500 PhD students in the biomedical research field. An MSc or an equivalent degree with the minimum requirement of IELTS/PTE/TOEFL test scores are needed to be eligible.
Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
