The IELTS Indicator, an online English language test for students who are affected by the COVID-19 and are unable to attend an IELTS test facility, has been launched by IELTS Partners. The IELTS Indicator evaluates a student's Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking skills in English. Students can take the test from the comfort of their own homes using a stable internet. This blog covers everything one needs to know about the IELTS Indicator, from registration to fees and equipment.

The IELTS Indicator is an official tool that one can use to demonstrate their English language proficiency in order to be admitted to their dream college. However, not all colleges accept it at this time, so it's always a good idea to double-check with the college one is applying to, to see whether they accept it or not.

IELTS Indicator is created by IELTS Partners, keeping in mind the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. This can be used to demonstrate language skills if any candidate wishes to apply to any institution. Candidates who are unable to travel to an official testing venue can take the test at home.

Note: For migration to Australia, Canada, or New Zealand the IELTS Indicator is not accepted.

How does the IELTS Indicator work?

A computer or laptop with reliable internet access can be used to take the IELTS Indicator. Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking are the four key IELTS ability areas assessed by the online test. The Speaking test is administered by video call by a fully qualified and trained examiner, keeping the IELTS focus on conversational English ability. The test must be completed in one sitting, with no breaks. The test will take around 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete and will incorporate reading, writing, and listening skills.

With the help of Zoom meeting software, a speaking test is done. It can be given before or after the Listening, Reading, and Writing components of the exam on any other day. Each section needs to be completed within a specific time limit. Furthermore, the test cannot be paused.

This is an IELTS-approved product. The IELTS Indicator is a timed test that is structured similarly to an in-person examination. Because normal IELTS marking systems and official IELTS examiners are used, it stays dependable, fair, and accurate.

How long will the IELTS Indicator test take?

The IELTS Indicator test lasts the same amount of time as the actual IELTS test. The Listening test lasts 30 minutes, and the Reading test lasts 60 minutes. The Writing test takes 60 minutes after that. The Speaking test takes 11-14 minutes to complete. The Speaking test can be taken before or after the Reading, Writing, and Listening assessments.
